Airfield 5Ch 2.4Ghz BF-109 Messerschmitt 1400mm Warbird RC Plane w/Electric Retracts RTF (Camo)MackinAugust 2, 2011This is one of my favorite planes I have. The details on it are nice, the paint job is decent. And the power it has is awesome. It flies great, and if you want, it will even fly it on a 3 cell battery. My only compliant is that it was missing some plastic parts that secures one of the wings to the fuselage. So their was a quality control issue.. I wish Nitroplanes would of sent me the replacement pieces, but it's been 2 months and nothing. I contacted them 4 times, and they always said the replacement pieces were on the way. Nada... The Plane is great, love everything about it. Just those missing pieces dinged it a star.
Airfield 5Ch 2.4Ghz BF-109 Messerschmitt 1400mm Warbird RC Plane w/Electric Retracts RTF (Camo)WardiousJuly 19, 2011To mention this is my first foam plane in 30 years. I was very happy. The maiden voyage for mine was flown today, just as kit came with no after market items. I slid the battery as far forward as it would go and secured it with a bit of velcro. It tracked as if on rails, Wind was approx 5 to 10mph it did not phase it a bit. After trimming the only problem I ran into was the field I fly at has a grass runway and it had not been mowed this week, the factory wheels would lodge in the grass when moving forward and it would tip up on its nose, there was no damage. I found a mound that turned out to be long enough with short grass and it took off and flew like a dream with only minor trimming required. Retracts worked very well. I believe when the fields grass is cut it will take off with no problem. Landing came in a tad hot and it set down like a champ. I look forward to another. Even though it was electric, it sounded fantastic in low altitude flybys. My only addition is to paint a spiral in the spinner, I have already done a half and half black and white and it looks awesome in the air. I went ahead and gave it 5 stars though I had problems with the wheel size, My gas trainer plane was unable to get enough speed for take off with 2.75 Dubro wheels on it. So I can not blame the problem on the 109.
Airfield 5Ch 2.4Ghz BF-109 Messerschmitt 1400mm Warbird RC Plane w/Electric Retracts RTF (Camo)Rick BlakeJune 15, 2011I have five Airfield Warbirds now and they all fly great! The Corsair is just a touch better than the P-47 and the BF109 and New P51 are close behind. Everything is solid, the detail great. I have the new T28 is going to the field tomorrow, thanks.
Airfield 5Ch 2.4Ghz BF-109 Messerschmitt 1400mm Warbird RC Plane w/Electric Retracts RTF (Camo)TimmoJune 6, 2011great size and good detail....i think the pilot needs a 'tache! .As it was on sale when i bought it i think it is great value too, it arrived the following day too. Too windy to fly right now so I can't give a flight review but each pilot will find different aspects of the craft. My thoughts on the build is make sure you read and read 'between' the lines in the manuals, its an easy build but make sure you don't get excited and ahead of yourself. The electrics are very good but make sure the binding happens BEFORE you mount the prop, the binding or if the Tx is off will give too much power to the unit and it will do some damage to itself or other things. Downside...I now have to tell my wife I want the Spitfire and everything else that is huge too! It does not come with a wall charger but I recommend the Thunder AC6 for the price as it will charge pretty much every lipo and comes with a load of adapters and has a great display that tells you everything about the battery/charge/time etc. All in all I found it to be a very well packaged product and minimal fuss for an average person to build.
