CMP Katana-S 140 - 72" Almost-Ready-to-Fly Nitro Gas Power RC Radio Remote Controlled Aerobatic Flying Aircraft ARF Planestar rating 3kraig m.May 1, 2010the overall build of the katana is very good and looks to be a really strong frame.the covering was tight and factory decals looked good.the hardware supplied with this plane was deffinatly substandard.the control horns ,clevises and control rods are all undersized for this plane.i would highly recommend installing heavy duty control horns and clevises as well as 4-40 rods due to the large control surfaces and high torque servos that should be used on a plane of this nature.there is only a medium size opening-hatch on the bottom of this arf to install the fuel tank and radio equipment.it would be nice in the future to have the canopy removable like most planes this size to allow for easier instalation and accces to radio equipment.it does come with several options to install a servo on the firewall or torque box of the plane for use of gas engines or 4-stroke engines.all the fiberglass supplied with the arf was in very good condition and was please with the finish.as far as assembly of the arf it looks to be fairly easy due to the fact there is very little gluing involved due to the plug in wing halves and tail surfaces.due to the size and weight of this arf i would recomend staying on the high end of the recomended engine sizes if your looking to due any 3d or aggressive manuvers.not that this plane is heavy, the recomended 108 2-stroke for the low end of the power range just doesnt seem to be enough power to do anything other than fly in a straight and level path or you will be running out of power very soon.the high end of this arf is as high as a 160 2-stroke,and that seems to be more in its range for what this plane is made to do.
